GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under the general direction of the Manager of Field Operations, the Data Specialist enters building information data into the BCPAO Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system, enters and verifies permit information in the CAMA system, and assists other departments with various requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operates a computer system entering permit information for both commercial and residential property record cards.
  • Researches and describes building permits received from the municipal and county building departments.
  • Communicates with various building department personnel to obtain information on permits.
  • Verifies property records for accuracy and also verifies information on printed data edits.
  • Updates property record cards, with information provided from field staff, on the CAMA system.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area (e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc.)
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Florida driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, continuously lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
